Emily Sacco

Artist, Friend, Wife & Mother

Here’s what you need to know about me…

Hey Loves!! I’m a wife, mother and just an all-around down-to-earth kind of gal. I’m from Ruckersville, VA, graduated from Fluvanna, moved to Colorado for a few years and then moved back to Fluvanna in 2018 when I was pregnant with my first son, Charlie.

I chose to specialize in Boudoir Photography because of the impact I made on my clients’ lives. I was primarily a wedding photographer for 7 years and just got burnt out from the long days away from my family. Boudoir gave me a chance to connect with my subject one-on-one and provide and truly one of a kind guided experience that I could pour every ounce of my heart and soul into!!! I absolutely LOVE what I do.

My Favorite Things:

  1. Coffee (yes, I’m that basic girl who loves coffee, I also love pumpkin spice lol)

  2. Going to the movies!!! (I love Marvel movies and I’m a Star Wars fan)

  3. Spending time with my family. I’m a homebody for sure. I’m a boy mom. I have a 2 yr old named Phoenix and a 4 yr old named Charlie.

  4. Riding my bike around Lake Monticello and hiking the Pleasant Grove Trails. I actually LOVE the small town vibes of Fluvanna.

  5. Listening to books on Audible!

  6. Getting Facials at Stonefox Beauty Project

  7. A good Pedicure (always have to get the extra massaging)

  8. Finding a good hole-in-the-wall restaurant (Bbq, Cheeseburgers, steak, I’m kind of a carnivore).

  9. Camping and spending time outdoors.

  10. Following the universe and just knowing where God wants you. Feeling the good energy from people and being aware that you are where you’re supposed to be is one of my favorite feelings.

Me Through The Years

2012

Opened Emily Sacco Photography. My first Boudoir shoot was a friends mom who was in her 50’s! And I LOVED it!!

2014

Got married to John and became a Sacco.

2014

Got the best wedding portraits done in Austin TX by one of my favorite photographers Michelle Gardella.

2014

Honeymooned in Boulder, CO and loved it so much we moved there!

2015

8,459ft. on the top of Bear Mountain in Boulder. Colorado was the best!!!

2016

Photographed 43 weddings and was published in over 15 different publications.

2017

Photographed over 20 different campaign tutorials for local brands AND photographed my first celebrity wedding-

officially burnt out from wedding photography!

October 2017

Photographed my last wedding- ever!!

2017

Sold almost everything we owned and moved into a van with my honey. We traveled all over the West, met amazing people, ate amazing food- these are the times I will treasure FOR EVER!! My retirement plan is to get a camper and do it all over again with my boo.

2018

We apparently loved our van time a little too much- haha!! I was SO happy to learn I was pregnant on January 1, 2018. (photo taken around 25 weeks).

August 31, 2018

My life changed forever- I became a mama!! It gives me so much guilt to even say it- but motherhood wasn’t what I thought it would be at all. My first son had terrible colic, couldn’t sleep, literally broke my nipple off almost while nursing- it was HARD times the first 10 months.

Winter 2018

Although it was hard, I love being a mom.

2019

I took some time off. I had a lot of postpartum depression and didn’t have interest in photographing anymore- which is literally crazy to think about now! At the time I didn’t know I was depressed, but looking back on it, it’s so obvious. Photography has been my one escape for so many years- it brings me SO much joy- becoming a full-time mama was just not in the cards for me. I wasn't happy- and that’s okay!

2020

Pregnant again with my second baby, Phoenix. The second time around was so much harder with Covid!!

June 12, 2020

Phoenix was born right after the riots of 2020 while the world was literally on fire. His name was supposed to be Anthony, but my husband felt called to name him Phoenix. A Phoenix is a symbol of hope!

September 2020

My husband lost his job and I was feeling called to go back to work. I started photographing again and LOVED it!! A friend asked me to photograph her Boudoir session and that’s when I knew this is what I wanted to specialize in. I already had 8 years of experience- it was a no brainer!

December 2021

Officially designed my own studio space and opened Emily Sacco Boudoir!!

2022 & Beyond

This year I celebrate being a professional photographer for 10 years. (I feel old!!)

For whatever reason I was called to be a Boudoir Photographer. Do you ever just know when something is right because it’s easy and fun? That’s how I feel about my work. It brings me so much fulfillment and I know my clients love it too!!
