Mrs. E's Empowering Boudoir Session Post-Trauma - Charlottesville, Boudoir Photography

People often ask me, “Why or how did you get into Boudoir photography?”

I first started my photography journey in 2012 at the ripe old age of 22 as a wedding photographer.

During that time I photographed bridal boudoir. My clientele were mostly young women, didn't have kids, didn’t have trauma (that I knew about). And while I believe they really enjoyed my work, their pictures wouldn’t become super valuable to them until years into the future once they had become weathered by life.

It wasn’t until I photographed a woman in her mid-40’s who had just divorced her abusive partner that it all changed for me.

I was like WOW! Boudoir can be so many things- yes it’s beautiful, yes it’s art, yes it’s FUN- but it’s also DEEPLY healing, grounding and therapeutic.

Boudoir gives you a chance to reclaim what’s yours and ignite the divine feminine power that is unique to you.

It’s Fxxing beautiful, friends!

Now a days I still photograph bridal and younger woman boudoir and throughly enjoy it-

I also find deep purpose in honoring women who have been through some SHIT!

It was an absolutely PLEASURE meeting Mrs. E and showering her with love for the day-

(Mrs. E gave us permission to share her story below!)
