Their engagement story:

We had just moved to Denver so all of my family was in town helping us move. My sister decided she really wanted to hike a 14er, so we made plans to go to the mountains and hike Mount Quandary that weekend. We rented a gorgeous mountain cottage and woke up at the crack of dawn to go for the hike. My sister and brother in law are from Texas, so they were NOT used to the altitude. Jared and I would wait and wait, but they never caught up on the hike. We made it to the top and it was one of the most incredible breathtaking views I have ever seen, and we felt so accomplished. We waited up there for over 2 hours in the cold for our family to make it to the top but they never came. I kept asking to go down but Jared was adamant we stayed and waited (makes sense now!) After over two hours, I made the executive decision that we were going down without them! Poor Jared didn't know what to do, so he asked a random man sitting next to us to take one last photo of us and I agreed. We walk to the edge of the mountain and line up to take the picture, and I look behind me and Jared is down on one knee with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen! I was at a loss for words and had NO idea what was going on, I was so shocked and happy and confused that I couldn't even tell you what he said! It was the best moment ever. We then drove back to Denver to our apartment and I opened the door, and there were candles everywhere and rose petals and champagne and chocolate and music... I was like how the heck did you do this?! And then all of my best friends came running out! Jared had called them before and planned it all with them.
